Obit. (Lionel).  Senior magistrate, JP from 35, income tax commissioner, member of Devon C.C., member of Volunteers for 9 years, leaves widow and 2 children, Stanley and Gladys.

Obit., Trans D.A. 1940, 72, 20.  (Half page).  B. 1859, only son of Simon Newcombe Neck of Great House.  Ed. Mt. Radford College, Exeter. Lived Moreton and Torquay, then Newton Abbot.  JP (Crockernwell, Teignbridge), churchwarden (Moreton), D.C.C., etc.  Family of Dutch origin (arrived 1690).  Added Stevens (his mother?s name) in 1937.  Member DA 1885, council member, paper on Moreton Rectors in 1896.  Died aged 80. [John Newcombe Stevens bought Hayne in 1835 -relation ??]

12.11.1943   W.H. Neck of 1 Courtenay Terrace left £4212 gross.  Probate to Thomas N. Harvey Neck of same address and Wm. E. Neck of Tower Park (sons).

25.12.40  Miss Mary Neck, daughter of late Thomas Neck of Moreton, funeral at Torquay, late deaconess of Methodists.

6.1.45.  Colin Neck, pilot officer, B.A., killed in RAF with BLA (had been school teacher).

3.11.45.  Death of John Herbert Neck, senior partner of Neck & sons, of 2 Courtenay Terrace.  Mourners – Miss M.F. Neck, sister, Mr S.H.Neck, brother, H.E. and R. Neck, nephews, Mrs MacMaster & Mrs Oliver, cousins.
